Thanks for joining me!
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

Is the sun rising or setting? I suppose it all depends on imagination and disposition. Am I an optimist or a pessimist? Am I hopeful or depressed? If I have faith, does is really matter? What is true in the daylight is true in the dark. And God has promised to never leave me and to be with me to the end of the age. I am His, day and night.
I have never attempted anything like this before. And I wonder why I am doing it now. I stopped writing journals a long time ago.
…………………..and a year later, I am back……………………………
One of the frustrating parts of a journey is picking your way over terrain that is rough and uncharted. Now, that’s life, isn’t it? Every day is new and different. Just about the time you feel sure of your path – surprise – the road takes a turn, makes you stumble, slows you down. And that’s about where we are right now.
It is the end of March, 2020. Tomorrow is April 1, 2020, and our world has been turned upside down.
We went to bed on March 10th knowing that the news was not good. A virus had broken out in China and was rapidly making its way around the world. It is a “novel coronavirus” that has been named “Covid 19”. By the time we went to bed on March 11th the world was in turmoil and America was changing in ways that we had never seen before!
Now we are trapped in “social distancing” and isolation in our homes (by choice, not force) because we are told that this will help to “flatten the curve” and not overwhelm our hospitals and healthcare workers. Flattening the curve means keeping the number of the sick and dying at a lower number for perhaps a longer period of time. This may save lives and may keep us from having to make choices about who lives and who dies, depending on availability of resources (beds and ventilators) that we have right now. There is no vaccine and there is only experimental treatment. There are no known cures or preventatives. So the only thing we can do is distance ourselves and pray for the best.
